Why Obasanjo is always against Yoruba presidency – Gen. Akinrinade

Former Chief of Defence Staff, General Alani Akinrinade (Rtd) has said former President, Olusegun Obasanjo is always against Yoruba presidency because he is not comfortable with his people.
According to Akinrinade in an interview with the New Telegraph, there have been allegations that Obasanjo has no ties to Yorubaland.
“If he feels differently, he should get a DNA test to find out if he is genuinely a Yorubaman; if not, he should return to his relatives in other places.
“I don’t believe Obasanjo is at all at ease with his Yoruba people. I say this because he is constantly at the center of these tragedies, whether it was with the late Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Moshood Abiola, or now Bola Tinubu,” he remarked. According to p.m News.
Akinrinade responded to Obasanjo’s demand to postpone the presidential election due to a number of problems by noting that Obasanjo is being clever by claiming that “we have already been down this road. He was the one who planned the previous one, if I were to tell you. Allow him to sue me if he wants to.
“I’ll remind him that when turmoil first started in AD, some individuals were still alive. When we went to bury the father of our late friend, Alhaji Musa Yar’Adua, in Katsina, we flew back, (from Katsina) with him (Obasanjo) after which he proceeded back to Abuja.
