Hello and welcome to Frank Lampard’s press conference ahead of Chelsea’s Premier League clash with Crystal Palace tomorrow afternoon.
The Blues are coming off the back of the Carabao Cup penalty shootout defeat to Spurs, and the 3-3 draw at West Brom last weekend.
The Eagles have made a decent start to the campaign, with two wins out of their opening three games, while Wilfried Zaha has been in good form to begin the season.
Meanwhile, Lampard’s side have been in indifferent form, and they will want to kick-start their campaign with a victory.
There’s also just a few days until the transfer window closes on Monday and there is still business for Chelsea to try to do.
Many of them will be exits, with Antonio Rudiger, Jorginho and Ruben Loftus-Cheek some of the potential players to move on.
Ziyech and Pulisic, getting the best out of everyone.
I think they will all bring the best out of each other. It’s a shame we haven’t had them. Hakim will bring something completely different for us. I am very excited to have them fit. I have a clear idea of where I want them to play.
Most coaches will tell you that you can find a pretty settled back two, you strive for it but it’s hard. Last year we had to change a lot, this year will likely be the same.
Pulisic is in the squad for tomorrow. He won’t start, it’s great to have him back. Ziyech is getting closer but not close enough to be on the bench.
How key is the Palace?
It’s important but as important as every game is. Brighton was tough, we have lost to the champions and then clear mistakes at West Brom. There is a clear perspective of the first three games and we are getting more settled. We will attack the game with confidence and a desire to win, like with every game.
