Onyia Nnamdi Onyeka, aide to Barr Ifeanyi Ejiofor, lawyer to leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has raised the alarm over alleged threat to his life.
He said security agencies have staged a manhunt for his soul being the closest aide to the lawyer.
Speaking to newsmen from his hideout via text messages, Onyia described as divine his escape during the December 2, 2019 alleged invasion of his Principal’s family house at Oraifite in Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra state.
Onyia, the only surviving aide to the legal practitioner, claimed to have escaped death by whiskers, saying “it was only by act of God that I did not die in that mayhem”.
He said he was among the five aides to Barr. Ejiofor “when the police invaded his house and started shooting sporadically at a close range, which saw four of my fellow aides dead, I briskly escaped the killings by providence.
“Ever since then, the Nigerian security agencies have staged a manhunt for my soul, because I am the closest aide to the lawyer,” he said.
He lamented increased cases of abuse of fundamental human rights by security agencies with particular focus on pro-Biafra agitators in Igbo land and Biafra territory.
Onyia appealed to the international community to come to the aid of the Biafra agitators and himself currently on the run for being hunted for committing no offence.
According to him: “Each time I remember four of my innocent colleagues who were mowed down by the security agencies, I usually feel so bad and sober because those aides did not commit any offence to warrant their untimely death.
“I want to come out from my hiding place but the problem is that if they see and arrest me, they may not even bother charging me to court to go and prove my innocence because they themselves do not obey court order.
“Let the international community and human rights crusaders come to my rescue before they lay their filthy hands on me and murder me in cold blood”.
