Sandra Bullock really enjoyed the tearful Mom role she plays in the movies Bird Box. She revealed that she didn’t have to do much acting in her recent film “Bird Box.”
According to usatoday.com, Sandra Bullock plays a mom who’s trying to save her kids’ lives from a paranormal force that causes people to kill themselves. In the trailer, she grabs her kids and intensely rattles off instructions to them on how to survive this thing, and she does so in the most serious, fearful and motherly tone ever.
“It’s easy to go there as a mom, you ask any mother,” the mother of two told Variety. “It’s not an easy place to stay when you have to stay there for 15 hours a day and imagine family dying, your children dying, or the love of your life dying.”
She added that being on set and playing the role of a mother who is scared of losing her kids actually made it easy to come back home to her family after filming.
She said she would leave the scary thoughts that every mother has on the set of the film and her kids liked her better because of it.
“By the time I went home by the end of the day, I was so grateful I didn’t have to think those horrible thoughts that I think every day as a mother in general out of fear,” Bullock said.
The actress added that it’s not easy to just let go of those types of thoughts because as a mom — it’s just part of who you are.
“I have two children who are African American and I have to have conversations with them that millions of parents do,” Bullock said. “But I have to balance it with, here’s ugly truth and here’s beauty truth.”
