POWER Season 6 launches on Starz with final series of the American crime drama. But when does it start and how many episodes will there be?
Power season six returns this week with Omari Hardwick and Joseph Sikora back leading the cast of the hit show. The show has captivated viewers for the past five seasons with its tough crime storylines and dramatic twists. Now, the final series will be arriving after a year of waiting – here’s what you need to know.
When does Power season 6 start?
The latest outing of the hit television series will be released on Sunday (August 25) on US platform Starz.
US fans will then be able to watch the crime saga weekly with 10 episodes airing on Sunday evenings.
However, the final five episodes will then be held until January 2020 when they will air for fans to say goodbye to the show for good.Episodes of Power will also be released on Netflix weekly in the UK and other countries.
This will begin on Monday (August 26) with fans of the series expected to be able to see episodes from 8 am BST.
To be able to watch the series, viewers will need to have a subscription to these services.
How many episodes are in Power season 6?
There will be 15 episodes in the final series of the crime drama.
However, as previously mentioned, the sixth series has been split into two parts.
Producers of the show have revealed that 10 episodes will be shown this year with the final five episodes broadcast next year.
showrunner Courtney Kemp spoke to TV Guide about the format change earlier this year.
She said: “Like every season, episode eight is going to be a huge ending — big, big shift.
“Episode 10 is cray. Then [episode 11] to [episode 15] is a way to explain what has happened.”
This makes it seem like there will be some exciting cliffhangers for fans of the show to enjoy.
What is Power season 6 about?

The US drama focuses on the story of ruthless drug dealer James St Patrick (played by Omari Hardwick), also known as Ghost.
Season five ended on a particularly dramatic note with major character Angela Valdes (Lela Loren) was shot.
She was shot by St Patrick’s best friend Tommy Egan (Joseph Sikora), just after he had revealed that he still loved her.
As soon as the series begins fans will be desperate to know whether Angela is still alive or not.
