Nigerian music sensation, Habeeb Okikiola aka Portable, has narrated why he rejected the N5 million offer from the organisers of the Renewed Hope Concert.

In a video posted on his social media page on Friday, Portable said “They (the organisers) have ripped me. I used to shout up and down: Akoi Tinubu and when I do so people insult me. But I continued posting it.”

According to him, the organisers of the concert reached out to his management saying that only N5,000,000 will be paid to Portable out of the N10,000,000 allocated to him.

Hearing this, Portable said he tore the contract and deleted their number as he would not allow them to rip him. As a result, despite being a huge fan, he was barred from singing at Tinubu’s inaugural performance on Thursday night.

Referring to the artistes who performed at the event, Portable said none of them campaigned for the president-elect as he did.

“They did not post you, Uncle Tinubu. We were the ones that fought for you. We fought for you in Lagos, everywhere, including online.”

“Na me sing Akoi Tinubu o. No be Obi una dey vote for? Tinubu enter now those useless people una go dey perform there, no be me promote Tinubu?

“Na so them call my manager o. Say them want make I come perform for Abuja. Na 10 million them drop o, but na five million go reach portable hand. Na so I no gree, I tear the paper. I delete the number, you dey whine Jesus? Na hin no make me perform for Abuja o.”

Many artistes including Wande Coal, KCee, Brymo, Fireboy, Kaycee, Asake, Timaya, Pasuma, Naira Marley performed at the concert, which Tinubu and his vice, Kashim Shettima, also attended.
