Orile Agege kicks off Football tournament for primary school pupils. In a bid to catch them young, the Executive Chairman of Orile Agege LCDA Hon J.S Babatunde has officially opened a football tournament for all primary schools in Orile Agege. The opening ceremony was held at Oyewole primary school complex and about 24 primary schools will participate in the tournement.
The organiser of the tournement, Mr Godwin Enakhena, a renown Nigerian sport journalist and analyst disclosed to mystatenews.com that the tournement is meant to fish out the young talents that will go into a football academy. The vision is to catch the pupils that has potential and develop them into superstars. According to him there are a lot football young stars wasting away everywhere.
Mr Godwin Enakhena also narrated how the MFM football club was formed. He said MFM was formed from organising football tournament among the churches of Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministries with the help of the General overseer Dr. Kolawole Olukoya. This is same dream i have for organising this tournament. He said.
Performing the opening ceremony J.S Babatunde the chairman of Orile Agege said he has been his vision to give back to his community through the development of young football talents especially in primary schools where you can catch them young. However he warned the sport officers of participating school to painstakingly select the best talents from their school for the tournement and aviod the Use of Machinery.
24 teams from 24 different schools within Orile Agege have lined up for the tournement. The first match kicked off this morning at Oyewole Primary school complex while the final of the tournament will be played at Agege Township Stadium.
