Nnamdi Kanu absent in Court, Senator Abaribe asked to produce him

Nnamdi Kanu absent in Court. The leader of IPOB Nnamdi Kanu absent in court on Tuesday stalled the treason trial of Nnamdi Kanu. The prosecution lawyer has prayed the court to revoke Nnamdi Kanu bail because of his absent. More trouble also hang in the neak of Secnator Abaribe who stood for him as a surety.

The trail of Namdi Kanu today stalled becuase of his absent. the IPOB leder Nnamdi Kanu is facing trial along with three others, and a fourth co-defendant, Bright Chimezie, who is yet to be added to the list of defendants.

The prosecution counsel, Shuabu Labaran, asked the court to revoke Mr. Kanu’s bail following his absence and called on the court to arrest the sureties who stood in for the defendant.

In his reaction, Mr. Kanu’s lawyer, Ifeanyi Ejiofor, expressed surprise at the submission of Mr. Labaran.  Mr. Ejiofor said he cannot tell whether Mr. Kanu is still alive or dead.

Senator Abaribe asked to produce Nnamdi Kanu

One of the surety of Nnamdi Kanu Senator Abaribe who represent Abia North has been caged to produce Nnamdi Kanu or ready to forfeit his N100m bail bond. Abaribe pleaded to be given more time to produce Kanu. Abaribe, who told Justice Binta Nyako, that he had no information about Kanu’s whereabouts, was forced to request for time to produce the defendant in court.

The judge however gave Senator Abaribe three options;

  1.  for Abaribe to produce the defendant in court and then apply to be discharged as a surety.
  2.  The court told Abaribe to be ready to forfeit his N100m bail bond.
  3. for Abaribe to request to be given time to produce the defendant in court.

The judge said Senator Abaribe must opt for one of the three options. The trial was been adjourned until November 20
