Nigeria vs Egypt Lineup: Super Eagles of Nigeria probable line-up against the Pharaohs of Egypt AFCON 2021

The Super Eagles of Nigeria are set to play their first game in the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon against the Pharaohs of Egypt today at Stade Omnisport Roumde Adjia in Garoua.

The Three times Africa Cup of Nations winners have been doing pretty well since they arrived in Cameroon ahead of their first game, and they’ve shown their readiness to for the game against Egypt national team.

The Super Eagles played a friendly match against Cameroon League giants Cotonsport football club last weekend, and they were able to defeat them by 2-0.

Goals from former Leicester City football club star Ahmed Musa and Villarreal FC dazzler Samuel Chukwueze were enough to give Austin Eguavoen led team a convincing victory over their opponent.

The likes of Victor Osimhen of SSC Napoli football club of Italy, Odion Jude Ighalo of Al Shabab football club of Saudi Arabia, Paul Ebere Onuachu of KRC Genk of Belgium, Emmanuel Dennis Bonaventure of Watford football club of England etc will not be able to play in the competition due to one reason or the other, but many Super Eagles players have been performing excellently in the team’s camp in Cameroon.

Maduka Okoye of Sparta Rotterdam football club of Netherlands

The Germany-born goalkeeper has been fantastic for his club since the beginning of the season, and he has also been doing pretty well for the Super Eagles in Camp, he’s expected to start ahead of Daniel Akpeyi, Francis Uzoho and John Noble.


Zaidu Sanusi of FC Porto of Portugal, Chidozie Awaziem of Alanyaspor FC of Turkey, William Troost 

of Watford FC of England and Ola Aina of Torino FC of Italy.

The four defenders were outstanding in Super Eagles friendly match victory over Cotonsport FC, and they are expected to start against Egypt national team today.


Frank Onyeka of Brentford football club of England, Joe Aribo of Glasgow Rangers football club of Scotland and Wilfred Onyinye Ndidi of Leicester City football club of England.

The trio have also been fantastic for both club and country since the beginning of the season, and they are expected to be given starting roles by coach Austin Eguavoen.


Chidera Ejuke of CSKA Moscow football club of Russia, Samuel Chukwueze of Villarreal football club of Spain and Taiwo Awoniyi of Union Berlin football club of Germany.

Nigeria national team have a lot of outstanding attackers that will be playing in this year’s edition of Africa Cup of Nations, but Chukwueze, Ejuke and Awoniyi are expected to start against the Pharaohs of Egypt.
