Popular musician Falz has announced that his next album will be controversial. He said this because he intends to create a consciously heard voice through his music
The rap artist urged other singers to also follow the same step. Folarin Falana who is popularly referred to as “Falz the bahd guy” has for a while now been releasing some controversial sounds that have got a lot of people talking.
His recent hit “This is Nigeria” generated so much controversy that led to its eventual ban on YouTube. It would seem the much loved artist intends to continue in this trend. He revealed this detail in an interview with Channels Television.
According to the award-winning musician and actor, the album he is soon going to release will “shake a lot of tables”. However, this is a conscious effort on his part as he feels there is the need to consciously make music that will tell stories and mirror the happenings in the society.
“Right now I’m making a lot of controversial music. People need to hear our voices.”
Furthermore, the Child of the World crooner said he is not moved by what people will say about the songs when they are released as it was a norm for them to be that way. “It’s always going to be like that, people are always going to get angry when you make that sort of music but those stories need to be told.”
In this sense, Falz urged other artistes like him to speak up about the ills in the society just as he also reiterated that the promised controversial and conscious album will be released very soon.
“Our voices need to be projected in the positive direction as artists. It is something I will continue to do, I’m working on a fully conscious album which is dropping very soon.”
