Considering the Federal Government’s efforts to control the spread of the coronavirus or COVID-19, MTN Nigeria has just announced its Y’ello Hope Package to support its subscribers and the Nigerian community.
This is to add to the measures penned down by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) to cut down the risks of spreading the deadly virus.
The network service provider said that it will suspend transaction charges on its Cash-2-Cash service, for four (4) weeks from the following week.
Cash-2-Cash is the flagship service of Y’ello Digital Financial Services, which is a subsidiary of MTN, helping Nigerians send and receive money from any part of the country without the requirement of a bank account.
With the easy reach to distance payments, customers find it possible to practise social distancing, which has been announced by the NCDC as a medium of reducing the rate of transmission of the deadly corona virus .
In partnership with NCDC, MTN will at the same time send SMS updates to subscribers on precautionary measures to take to avoid contacting or spreading COVID-19.
Moreover, MTN has also substituted its carrier name on customers’ mobile devices with “stay safe”, a message that subscribers reacted that they found reassuring.
The company’s subscribers can dial *223# to locate the nearest MoMo Agent to their location and enjoy advantage of the FREE Cash-2-Cash service.
