Man Stabs Cousin To Death Over Mango In Abia State

A man identified as Mr Chinedu Omeonu has reportedly killed his cousin, Solomon Orji, at Mgboko Umuoria community in Obingwa council area of Abia State over mango fruits

According to the report, Chinaedu Omeonu inflicted a very deep cut on Solomon Monday Orji who happens to be his cousin brother and the cut was what led to the death of Solomon.

Reports gathered have it that the son of Solomon Monday Orji went to Omeonu’s house to pluck some mango fruits and Chinaedu out of his hatred for Monday Orji’s family flogged the little boy mercilessly to the extent that the boy fainted and was unable to go back to their house.

When Mr Solomon heard what happened to his son, he rushed to Omeonu’s (owner of the mango tree) house to ask him why he flogged his son mercilessly to the extent that the boy couldn’t work again just because of mango fruit.

When the boy’s father was informed about what happened to his son, he went to Omeonu’s residence to inquire about the incident.

Eyewitnesses said; “Solomon’s son went to his father’s cousin residence to pluck some mangoes, but the owner, Omeonu beat up him up. I think there were some problems between both families.

Omeonu was very violent on him and after exchanging words, Solomon carried his son home.

On his way home, Omeonu went after him with a cutlass and inflicted several cuts on his neck.

According to those around, Solomon slumped and died instantly.

Angered by the incident, youths of the community arrested Omeonu and handed him over to the Police.

When Vanguard contacted the Police Public Relations Officer, Abia State Command, SP Geoffrey Ogbonna, he replied he was not aware of the incident
