IPOB sit-at-home order in all South-East is today. We are watching the all the happenings from all the affected states in the region. Nigerians are watching whether the people will comply or not.
There was a report yesterday that the major markets in the affected states were busy as people make a heavy purchase because of today sit-at-home order. while petroleum sellers enjoyed unusual patronage as many people bought fuel in cans and filled their vehicles.
IPOB has reportedly vowed to resist Police threat to wave the plan of IPOB sit-at-home order. Despite the heavy presence of the police on the streets yesterday, IPOB leadership insisted there was no going back on the sit-at-home to protest the planned Operation Python Dance 3, the recent detention of some Igbo women in Imo State and the killing of many pro-Biafra agitators in various parts of the country.
Early morning of Today Friday 14, the information reaching us has it that the busy Aba market is scanty as all the shops are under lock. There is no movement of vehicles and people are not seen in the street.
According to a Facebook user Engr Chidi Aloysius Nwosu said
“this is the popular and one of the busiest road situated at the heart of aba, its Azikiwe road the time is 7:30am.this is to show that the general strike is being observed by the people”
It shows that there is total compliance in most busy market in the area. For instance, at Aba market, a photo shows an empty market.
Also most banks are under lock even some open with no custumer.
