Kim Kardashian most iconic memes as KUTWK comes to an end

After 14 years, 20 seasons and countless dramatic showdowns, Keeping Up With The Kardashians will end next year, marking the true end of an era.

As cameras settled into the various Kardashian homes for over a decade, we saw the sisters transform from catty siblings into bonafide business moguls and, in the case of Kylie Jenner, from goofy child into mother and billionaire.

It has given us insights into break-ups and divorces, births and gender reassignments, and has become the blueprint for reality TV shows in its wake.

And as well as influencing everything from telly trends to lip sizes, it has also given a massive contribution to meme culture – particularly in the form of Kim Kardashian.

Kim’s naked photo shoots and Instagram selfies have become ingrained in pop culture, but so too have some of her most iconic moments on KUWTK. Barely a day on social media goes by without a Kim GIF being shared in response to a tweet, while 12-year-old fights have gone viral on TikTok.

So in honour of KUWTK coming to its end, we have looked back on Kim’s most legendary moments to have made a dent on the world outside of E!

Don’t be so f***ing rude (season 2

If you ever thought the Kardashians were sugarcoating their relationship, season two disproved that pretty quickly when Kim beat up Khloe with her handbag.

The infamous fight occurred when Khloe and Kourtney got annoyed at their sister when she refused to call out the owner of a Bentley dealership for not having her $200,000 (£155,000) car ready for pick-up when she arrived.

Kim decided that her sisters were just jealous that she was able to afford the car, and called up mum Kris to proclaim that she hated their guts – but later calmed down and decided to go and diffuse the system.

That is, until she arrived at their flat to hear her sisters calling her ‘weak’ in a conversation with brother Rob, leading to Kim barging through the door, swinging her handbag at Khloe and shouting: ‘Don’t be so f***ing rude!’

The fight may have aired way back in 2008, but it became a big hit on TikTok last year, with influencers recreating the moment through lipsyncs and interpretative dance – even the Jonas Brothers got in on the trend.

Kim emerging from the bushes (season 10)

The go-to GIF for anybody reacting to some piping hot tea.

Kim emerging from the bushes with a wide smile on her face has become synonymous with shady people living for the drama, so it’s bizarre that the image comes from a rather sweet moment.

In 2015, Kim watched on as her husband Kanye West filmed the video for his song Only One, featuring his infant daughter North.

As Spike Jonze filmed North walking hand-in-hand with her daddy on his phone, Kim hid back in the bushes so that her daughter wouldn’t get distracted – but couldn’t resist sticking her head out of the leaves to take a peek.

Kim, there’s people that are dying (season 6)

One of KUWTK’s most iconic quotes comes from big sister Kourtney, but it was sparked by Kim sobbing in the ocean.

The family were on a trip to Bora Bora when Kim’s then-boyfriend Kris Humphries picked her up and threw her into the sea.

Kim found it pretty funny – that is, until she touched her ear and realised one of her $75,000 (£58,000) diamond earrings was missing.

To be fair to Kim, we’d be pretty gutted if we lost an earring worth the same price as a small house fell into the water, but her resulting meltdown has gone down in Kardashian history.

So too has Kourtney’s retort after realising what her sister was crying about: ‘Kim, there’s people that are dying.’

Miraculously, Kylie Jenner actually rescued the earring, later explaining: ‘It was pretty deep, but there [weren’t] a lot of waves and Kim kind of, like, threw a tantrum immediately when she found out that she lost it and I was like, “No. This is fine!”

‘I went under there and it was saltwater so it kind of hurt to open my eyes, but I just opened my eyes and looked around and I saw something shining. Swam all the way down there — it was, like, 10 feet — picked it up, and it was the shining diamond! I literally found it in two minutes.’

The devil works hard, but Kris Jenner works harder.

In season one of KUWTK, we saw Kim posing for Playboy, months after her infamous sex tape with Ray J leaked.

Momager Kris stopped by the shoot for moral support, and while her daughter posed nude under strings of pearls to shield her modesty, she snapped pictures on her phone and said the immortal line: ‘You’re doing amazing, sweetie.’

The moment has been recreated in Ariana Grande’s Thank U Next video, with Kris playing the ‘cool mom’, as well as on the set of Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s WAP, which Kylie starred in.

Nothing stops Kim from availing of a selfie opportunity, not even her younger sister’s incarceration.

In 2008, Khloe reported to jail for violation of her probation, after being arrested a year earlier for driving under the influence.

Her friends, mum Kris and sister Kim accompanied her to the courthouse to face her fate, but Kim was more occupied with taking pictures in the car (with a digital camera, how retro).

A fed up Kris remarked: ‘Kim, would you stop taking pictures of yourself, your sister’s going to jail’, but Kim persevered, even taking snaps of everyone else in the car.

Anyway, it ended up not mattering that much, as Khloe was released from jail

Ah, the crying face that covered a million phone cases. For somebody who has covered countless fashion magazines, even gracing the pages of Vogue, poor Kim has been mocked mercilessly over her crying face, which isn’t exactly model-esque.

The expression has featured in many an episode of KUTWK, with Kourtney even laughing at her sister as she sobbed in bed.

But the one that has made it into meme legend came in Kourtney & Kim Take New York, when Kim sobbed in her robe after realising she didn’t love husband Kris anymore.

Keeping Up With The Kardashians returns to E! later this year.
