It’s Like Being Nice To A Lady You Jilted – Shehu Sani Describes Wike, Peter Obi Relationship

Published

on

Shehu Sani, a former lawmaker and social critic, has compared the relationship between Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike and the Labour Party, LP, presidential candidate in the February 25 election to that of a man who jilted his girlfriend and married another woman.

Senator Sani stated that one could not be attempting to be nice in order to maintain a relationship with a woman he jilted. His statement was posted to his verified Twitter account on Saturday.

Sani was referring to the fact that Wike supported Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress, APC, during the presidential election and is now making complimentary remarks about Obi in advance of the gubernatorial and state assembly elections.

Recall that some Nigerians and Labour Party, LP, supporters believed that governor Wike worked against the interests of Obi in favour of Tinubu during the presidential election, a claim Wike denies.

On Saturday, the governor of Rivers stated that Obi was his hero of the presidential election, claiming that Obi ensured that a president-elect of Southern extraction was elected. The statement was made while he was addressing Igbo merchants at a town hall to solicit their support for the March 18 gubernatorial election in the state.

Sani believed Wike was attempting to be nice to Obi and his supporters in recent years, despite the fact that Wike had supported Tinubu during the presidential election and subsequently switched his allegiance. He wrote, “Wike and Peter; it’s like trying to maintain a relationship with a woman you jilted after marrying another.”
