Is Senator Abiola Ajimobi Dead? Why People Still Believe He Has Died

There was anxiety over the death rumour of the former Governor of Oyo State and newly appointed APC acting national chairman Abiola Ajimobi. There was confusion last night across Oyo State over the death rumour of Mr Ajimobi. The social media was wide when some online media claimed that Ajimobi died in Lagos at about 8 pm.

In fact on Twitter, The name Ajimobi make it to the top of the trends. And those who received the news and closed to the former Governor, they began to send condolences messages to the family of Mr Ajimobi.

Gripped with anxiety, APC members and other stakeholders in the state made telephone calls on the development.

Bolaji Tunji, Special Adviser, Communication and Strategy to Ajimobi In a statement issued to debunk the news that went viral on the social media on the passage of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Vice Chairman (South) said: “My attention has been drawn to the rumours circulating on the social media about my principal, kindly disregard. We, however, continue to pray for him. Thank you all for the show of concern.”

“I spoke to one of his daughters about 15 minutes ago and she told me he is fine. So, discard the speculation.”

But reminded that he never confirmed reports that Ajimobi was indisposed until the current leadership crisis in the All Progressives Congress (APC) came up, Tunji said: “I can only tell you now that he is alive and nothing is true in what is being speculated.”

In the same views, the daughter-in-law to Senator Abiola Ajimobi, Fatima Ganduje-Ajimobi responded on her Twitter handle. She wrote:  Thank you for all the messages but our father is still alive. When it is our time we will all die so wait first.
