Lagos has a lot of witnessed pipelines explosion but this one is practical different because the cause of the explosion is yet to be ascertained and the explosion is similar to Boko Haram blast
I visited the scene of the incident, at the Abule Ado, in Amuwo Odofin Local Government Area. Tears continually flow from my eye. I couldn’t hold back my tears the explosion look exactly like Boko Haram attack and target being the Catholic secondary school whose the principal also the Rev Sister Henrietta died from the incident while trying to rescue the students.
Boko Haram has yet to claim responsibility for the explosion but it was similar to the bombing of Boko Haram.
The Director-General, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Dr Olufemi Oke-Osayintolu, said “the cause is unknown”
The NEMA coordinator said: “We are going to find out what really happened. I have been to so many blasts scenes, especially Maiduguri and I can tell you that I do not know if a single bomb can have this kind of effect we have seen here. Not even an IED can.
The casualties figure has risen to 17 including the family of four, the father, mother and their two children. The principal of the school Rev Sister Henrietta lost her life. More than 80 people are currently in Navy Hospital
The properties worth billions was destroyed about 50 houses were including Bethlehem Girls College and a popular hotel, were damaged.
