iOS 12 is due to be rolled out today across the world, after being announced way back in Apple’s Developers Conference in June.
The blockbuster update is due to land on iPhones and iPads later today and will introduce a plethora of new features and upgrades to eager Apple product users.
The headline update of iOS 12 is the promise of a performance boost for pretty much all devices – no matter how old the hardware.
Considering iOS updates have been regarded with a level of caution after controversies around previous rollouts caused users handsets to slowdown, this is a pretty reassuring development.
iOS 12 – What time will iOS 12 be released?
Traditionally, Apple releases major software updates around 10 AM PT.
That means UK users can expect the update to start rolling out at around 6 pm BST.
So you can expect iOS 12, watchOS 5 and tv 12 to start going live at 6 pm BST, 10 AM PT or 1 PM ET today.
iOS 12 – How do I get the new update?
Once the update is live – any time after the time listed above – you can perform the following actions on your Apple device:
Settings -> General -> Software Update
There should be an option to update your device to iOS 12. Plug in your device, make sure you’re connected to WiFi and you can get started.
