The Imo State Deputy Governor Eze Madumere has been impeached by the State House of Assembly. The Deputy Governor was impeached over alleged misrule and misconduct.
It is gathered that 19 of the 37 members of the Imo House of Assembly impeached the deputy Governor.
The problem started when Mr. Madumere launched the ambition to succeed the Governor Rochas Okorocha but the Governor preferred his son in law to succeed him.
“The crisis worsened during the APC local and state congresses in the state with Mr Okorocha and his deputy supporting separate factions”
The impeachment motion was moved by majority leader, Lugard Osuji, who represents Owerri Municipal; and seconded by Victor Onyewuchi, representing Owerri West LGA.
