Godswill Akpabio formally dumps PDP for APC [Photos]
Godswill Akpabio the former Minority leader of People democratic Party has formally dumped the PDP for APC. The official declaration was witnessed by a massive crowd at a mega rally held at the Ikot Ekpene township stadium on Wednesday.
The crowd at the venue can intimidate the government in power in Akwa Ibom State. No fewer than 30 APC’s senators and members of National Working Committee (NWC) were on hand to receive the ex-senate minority leader, Akpabio.
The APC National Chairman Adams gave Godswill Akpabio a role as the leader of APC in Akwa Ibom State. He said “let’s us welcome our new APC leader in Akwa Ibom state”
Godswill Akpabio was introduced by the Senate Minority leader Sen. Ahmed Lawan, in rocking ovation. Sen. Ahmed Lawan, said `This defection surpasses all other defections.
“This is a defection that has shaken the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
“They followed Akpabio everywhere to prevent him from defecting but he ignored them.’’
The National leader of APC Asiwajo Bola Tinubu spoke passionately about the achievements of APC led Federal Government. He commended Godswill Akpabio for doing the needful as he officially resigned as PDP Minority leader in the House of Senate.
Giving the position as the APC leader in Akwa Ibom State. Godswill Akpabio has officially welcome into the family of Progressives. He was ushered inby the party National Chairman.
