Femi Adebayo, Brodashaggi, others react as Tunde Kelani’s movie, Cordelia features at New York African Film Festival

Congratulatory messages are pouring in for Nigerian filmmaker, Tunde Kelani as his movie, “Cordelia” features at New York African Festival.

Announcing the news on his Instagram page, Tunde Kelani revealed that Cordelia has been selected to feature at the 30th New York African Festival which is slated for the 15th of May, 2023.

“CORDELIA SCREENS AT NYAFF AT 30! We are very glad to announce the selection of Tunde Kelani’s latest Film ‘CORDELIA’ which has been selected to be screened at the New York African Film Festival on the 15th of May, 2023.” Tunde Kelani said in an Instagram post.

Kelani’s romantic drama “Cordelia” is an adaptation of Femi Osofisan’s novella which sees romance meet politics.

It is a film set in Nigeria during the early 90s under military rule.

Cordelia also reminds us of our recent past as we give democracy another chance.

Taking to his comment section, the likes of Femi Adebayo, Yvonne Jegede, Brodashaggi, and Samuel Olatunji rejoiced with him.

Nollywood stars jubilate as Tunde Kelani announces Saworoide 2

Last month, Tunde Kelani announced the return of the legendary Yoruba movie, Saworoide 2.

Tunde Kelani announced the sequel to the movie on his social media page. He announced that the second part of the movie would hit the screen soon.

He wrote, “When there is a cultural vacuum, moral and mental decay follows. SAWOROIDE 2 ( New movie) COMING SOON!”

Celebrities like Bimbo Ademoye, Kunle Remi, Toyin Abraham, Mr Macaroni, Ibrahim Chatta, Femi Adebayo, Yewande Adekoya, Bukola Arugba, Aisha Lawal, and a host of others have expressed excitement about the movie sequel.

Bimbo Ademoye wrote, “No way!!!. Saworoide 2? 😢😢😢. Somebody pinch me.”

Ibrahim Chatta wrote: SAWOROIDE 2, Wow.🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾Agba l’o to’ro lo…”.

Tunde Kelani brings Toyin Abraham to tears as he chooses her movie over Funke Akindele’s movie

In other news, Tunde Kelani had brought actress, Toyin Abraham to tears with his review of her new movie, Ijakumo.

The movie star premiered her much-talked-about movie, which attracted top celebrities.

The filmmaker who was one of the attendees at the premiere, took to his Instagram page to review the movie.

Kelani crowned it as the best Christmas and New Year present, above Funke Akindele’s new movie, Battle on Buka Streets.
