Enugu Rangers Striker Ifeanyi George Dies At 26

Ifeanyi George, the Enugu Rangers striker also the assistant captain is dead. He was confirmed dead on Sunday morning after involving in a motor accident from Benin to Agbor. He was aged 26.

According to Goal.com. the accident that claimed his life occurred at Abudu on Benin-Agbor expressway after his car bumped into a parked truck on his way to Lagos, after the Nigerian top-flight was suspended owing to the Covid-19 outbreak.

It was later confirmed that George’s friend and Rangers teammate Emmanuel Ogbu also passed away in the collision.

The NFF also confirmed his death in the NFF official Twitter handle.


One Twitter user who was also a fan of Ifeanyi George reacted to his death, he wrote: Just watched Ifeanyi’s winning goal for Rangers in the Caf confederation’s cup against Pyramids. Dude was a real goal poacher! Sad he had to bow out this early. May God give his family, teammates and the entire football fraternity the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss!!
