Nigerians have took to the social media to rejoice over the shutdown of SARS in Nigeria by the Acting President Yemi Osinbajo. Osinbajo ordered the immediate overhaul of SARS and ordered a thorough investigation of alleged unlawful activities.
According the Osinbajo, all operatives in the emerging Unit conduct their operations in strict adherence to the rule of law and with due regard to International Human Rights Law and the constitutionally guaranteed rights of suspects.
Nigerians received the news with joy as they shutdown Twitter with different reactions. Using the hashtag #EndSARS,
