Edinson Cavani has hinted that he will make his Manchester United debut against Chelsea on Saturday. The player admitted it will be a “great experience” to line up against former Paris St-Germain team-mate Thiago Silva.
Cavani joined United on a free transfer in the summer window, in the same window, Silva joined Chelsea. He was then left out of United’s squad to face former club PSG on Tuesday. Having spent the last week going through the gears at Carrington, Cavani could make his long-awaited Red Devils debut in their crunch clash with top-four rivals Chelsea at Old Trafford.
“It will be great to be able to find him on the pitch,” Cavani told EN24 News. “Thiago is very professional because he works so hard in training and in the pre-match warm-ups. Well, it won’t be easy! It will be complicated because he is a very good central defender and an excellent footballer. But it will still be a great experience.”
Cavani and Silva played together for seven years at PSG, inspiring the French club to six Ligue 1 titles.
