The senator representing Kogi West Senator Dino Melaye has just been kidnapped by an unknown gunmen. Senator Ben Murray-Bruce raised the alarm that Dino Melaye kidnapped by unknown Gunmen along the Gwagwalada, a suburb of Abuja.

Ben Murray-Bruce who represents Bayelsa East wrote on his Twitter handle that he got the information from Melaye’s brother who said the lawmaker was reportedly kidnapped after the gunmen attacked them on their way to Kogi State.

I have just been informed by Moses Melaye, @dino_melaye’s brother, that Dino has been abducted by unknown persons in a Toyota Sienna that blocked their car and overpowered them on their way to Kogi to answer to Dino’s court case. Lets be on the watch out. Will keep you updated.

A friend of the Senator who witnesses the incident said Dino Melaye kidnapped by unknown Gunmen along the Abuja-Lokoja Highway.

Shuaibu said, “As we speak, his (Melaye’s) whereabouts is unknown. Nigerians must come to his rescue.”

However, the police have yet to confirm the abduction.

Dino Melaye is among the 15 Senators who defect to the People Democratic Party (PDP). He is currently facing charges for allegedly aiding criminals and attempted suicide and was billed to appear in court on Thursday.

The report that Dino Melaye kidnapped by unknown Gunmen has never be confirmed and Police has not made any statement regarding the incident.
