Despite Threats, Naira Marley Is Yet To Be Arrested
About three weeks ago, NaijaNews reported that Music artiste, Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, flouted lockdown orders when he breached an interstate travel ban to perform at an Abuja concert, put together by Play Network Africa, Traffic Bar, and El’Carnival, and was sponsored by Glenfiddich.
Despite public clamours for his arrest, Marley is yet to be arrested and prosecuted for his misconduct.
Marley flew inside a private jet from Lagos to Abuja to perform at the sold-out concert held at Jabi Lake Mall, before he reportedly flew back (FCTA) then sealed off Jabi Lake Mall, the venue of the concert.
There was a public outcry at the time, that he should be arrested, and the private jets services suspended.
The Executive Jets Services Ltd, owners of the private jet, has been suspended indefinitely, as announced by Aviation Minister, Hadi Sirika, following explanation by the federal government, that it approved the flight that flew in the singer, but it was however not meant to fly in a justice, Adefope Okojie, from Lagos to Abuja and back to Lagos “for essential purposes and not the musician.
However, as reported by PremiumTimes, Marley is yet to be arrested or prosecuted.
None of the organisers of the concert has also been arrested or prosecuted.
