Court orders separate trials for Nnamdi Kanu. Nnamdi Kanu failed to show up in court again, this has led the court decision to tral him seperately. The treason case of leadre of Indigenous People of Biafra tesumed on Tuesday but the Nnamdi Kanu was once again absent in court.
The lead prosecutor Mr. Shuaibu Labaran petitioned the court that the continued absence of Nnamdi Kanu from court since he was granted bail in April 2017 “has frustrated progress in the case.”

Judge Binta Nyako ordered the trial of Kanu’s three co-defendants without him on March 20 and prosecute him separately.
You will recall that Nnamdi Kanu was granted bail last years and some conditions were attached to it. Few days after he was released he started breaking those conditions. some of the conditions are;
- Kanu must not hold rallies.
- He must not grant interviews.
- He must not be in a crowd of more than 10 people. Check the rest Here
Nnamdi Kanu refusal to keep the bail condition led to Military action in the zone. Kanu’s lawyer has declared Nnamdi Kanu missing since September 22, 2017 claiming the Military invaded his home. Since then nobody knows Kanu whereabout. He has not been attending his trail, few days ago Kanu’s wife was Uchechi interviewed by BBC Igbo and the woman said “I don’t know where my husband is, whether he is dead or alive, I don’t know.”
Althogh Nnamdi Kanu was not in court today but the rest of his co-defendants were produced in court by prison officials. They are Mr. Chidiebere Onwudiwe, Benjamin Madubugwu David Nwawuisi.
Nnamdi Kanu’s lawyer explained to the court that Nnamdi Kanu never jumped bail and at no point has he indicated interest of not coming to face his trial.”
