The much awaiting London derby has finally arrived as Chelsea hosts Arsenal tonight. Chelsea will host Arsenal at Stamford Bridge with the blues needing a win to seal their place in the top four.
Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea and Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal will meet for the first time this season. Arsenal is out of the top four race and has not to fight for except for the bragging rights against their London rival. Arsenal crashed out of the Europa League after losing 2-1 on aggregate to Villarreal, missing out on a safe route to secure a Champions League spot.
Mikel Arteta is under the pressure of getting sacked after a disastrous season and will be hoping to beat Chelsea to appease the fans.
After Leicester City win yesterday, Chelsea desperately needs to beat Arsenal to officially seal their top-four place.
Form, head-to-head and past histories:
Chelsea and Arsenal are long time rivals and met countless times in the Premier League. Both teams have met once this season with Arsenal defeating Chelsea 3-1 at the Emirates Stadium.
Mikel Arteta guided his Arsenal side to a win over Frank Lampard’s Chelsea to kickstart an 8 games unbeaten streak. With Chelsea playing well under Thomas Tuchel, it will be difficult for Arsenal to win tonight.
Chelsea is eyeing a double this season:
Chelsea will face Leicester City on May 15 in the FA Cup finals and Manchester City on May 29 in the Champions League finals.
Match formation and team lineup:
Thomas Tuchel is likely to continue with his preferred 3-4-3 in today’s game against Arsenal. The 3-4-3 has been a success for the Thomas Tuchel era at Chelsea which has seen the blues record a lot of wins.

In other to get the needed win and keep getting into the finals, we need to start with the strongest lineup ever. Thomas Tuchel knows the importance of the game and I believe he will start the right players for the match.
However, this is my strongest starting lineup:
Edouard Mendy, Caesar Aziplicuelta, Emerson, Kurt Zouma, Marcos Alonso, Reece James, Ngolo Kante, Billy Gilmour, Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech, Kai Havertz_
Chelsea should rest Thiago Silva, Jorginho, Toni Rudiger, Christian Pulisic, Mason Mount and Ben Chilwell ahead of the FA Cup final against Leicester City on Saturday.
What do you think about the lineup? Can Chelsea win Arsenal tomorrow?
