Chelsea To Fortify Goal line With The Signing Of Ugurcan Cakir From Trabzonspor At £27m

Chelsea reportedly reached an agreement to sign a Trabzonspor’s goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir this summer transfer window to strengthen his backline side.

Chelsea FC have reportedly made their move to sign the 24-year-old Turkish goalkeeper, Ugurcan Cakir from the Turkish Super Lig outfit, Trabzonspor.

The Turkey international has been superb this campaign in the Turkish Super Lig and the Turkish ace set to be rewarded with a big move this summer.

The fellow English Premier League clubs, Tottenham FC, Sheffield United FC and Newcastle United FC have been among the several clubs to have monitored the movement of the 24-year-old goalkeeper this campaign.

The Blues manager, Frank Lampard had been happy with Kepa Arrizabalaga at the beginning campaign until his inconsistency began to lose Chelsea points in the race for the top four.

The Spanish goalkeeper, Kepa was dropped before the coronavirus pandemic for the fellow teammate, Caballero but was reinstated back into the squad.

Yet since the restart, Kepa Arrizabalaga’s vulnerability form from set-pieces has made the Blues manager, Frank Lampard to pay attention to moving new shot-stopper to the Stamford Bridge this summer.

According to a report from Turkish outlet, Haber 365, Chelsea FC have struck an agreement with Trabzonspor to sign their goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir. The report confirmed that the Blues has agreed a fee of €33million, who will move to the Stamford Bridge this summer.

Reports suggest that the manager, Frank Lampard reportedly told the Blues technical advisor, Petr Cech, to help find a new goalkeeper together with the chief, Marina Granovskaia.

Chelsea FC will look to sell Kepa Arrizabalaga and there is already interest from the Spanish Laliga outfits, Valencia and Sevilla. A loan deal is looking more likely and would mean the Frank Lampard’s side have to foot the bill for some of the Spanish ace wages.
