Champions League draw: Liverpool face Real Madrid, Chelsea vs Dortmund, Tottenham’s nightmare group

The Champions League draw gets underway on Thursday – but Starsport couldn’t wait until then and have put the teams through a simulator.

The Champions League draw has been CONCLUDED… at least it has in Starsport’s offices ahead of Thursday’s draw.

Olympiakos should be cut adrift.

All eyes will be on Monaco later this week when the 32 teams discover their fate for the group stages of the competition.

Liverpool are the defending champions after beating Tottenham in last year’s final in Madrid.

And as a result Spurs, in Pot 2, are very much in danger of landing themselves in the ‘group of death’

Teams from the same country cannot play each other. With that in mind, we’ve put the teams through a simulator and can now only hope the real draw is as exciting as ours.

As for Chelsea, Christian Pulisic will be in line for a reunion with Borussia Dortmund in Group D and they’ll face a tricky trip to Lokomotiv Moscow.

The likes of Moscow, Olympiakos and even Ajax are all yet to secure their spot in the real draw though with sixties still to be decided.

Group C looks tasty with Juventus and Atletico set to battle it out, while Lionel Messi and co will go up against Napoli and Young Boys, should the Swiss side see off Red Star Belgrade.

Elsewhere, Paris Saint-Germain’s team of superstars look like the standout winner in Group A but Group F is anyone’s guess.

Zenit St Petersburg, Benfica, Valencia and Galatasaray would make for some fascinating ties. Just the 72 hours to wait now until the real deal.

Starsport will be bringing you live updates of Thursday’s draw from 4pm BST.
