‘Call for interim government absurd’, says Sen. Nnamani

Sen. Chimaroke Nnamani has berated proponents of the Interim National Government (ING), describing it as treasonable and an affront to the sensibility of Nigerians.

Nnamani said this in a statement issued on Thursday in Abuja.

According to him, Interim Government was absurd and had no place in modern-day democratic rule, saying that those behind the plot were enemies of Nigeria.

“The presidential election has been conducted and a winner has been declared.

“Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu will be sworn in as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on May 29, Interim government is a needless distraction.

“Asiwaju will be sworn in on May 29, and he will hit the ground running.’’

Nnamani affirmed that Tinubu will stick to his promises of social protection, national transformation, and restructuring.

He expressed hope that a Tinubu-led administration would handle critical infrastructure development, youth unemployment, women’s empowerment, and girl-child issues.

The former Enugu state governor predicted that a Tinubu-led administration would guarantee budget increases to handle complex issues in the health, education, and social service sectors, such as portable drinking water and environmental sanitation.

He expressed hope that the next administration will revitalise worldwide recognition and awareness, attracting other countries to invest in Nigeria and, as a result, turn the country’s economy around.

He urged Nigerians across the political divide to support the incoming administration, which he believed would be a government of national unity in which no section of Nigeria would be marginalised or shortchanged.
