The Former head of Head Ibrahim Babangida has been rumoured to have died. The former Head of State died at the age of 77 years of an undisclosed hospital.
A source at Vanguard news disclosed that the former President passed on Saturday the 15th of December after suffering from a chronic stroke but failed to provide the details.
All attempts to authenticate the breaking news was not successful, as the family members refused to comment on the news when contacted by our reporters.
Babangida has been battling with sickness, he was also flown abroad to seek better medical treatment.
Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida GCFR was born 17 August 1941, is a retired Nigerian Army General who was President of Nigeria from 27 August 1985 to 26 August 1993. He previously served as the chief of army staff from January 1984 to August 1985. Babangida was a key player in most of the military coups in Nigeria (July 1966, February 1976, December 1983, August 1985, December 1985 and April 1990).
