Breaking: Appeal Court overturns Osun tribunal judgment, affirms Oyetola’s victory

The Court of Appeal in Abuja will today deliver judgments in three appeals and a cross-appeal filed against the majority judgment given on March 22, 2019, by the Osun State Governorship Election Tribunal.

The leaked information reaching us has the Appeal Court has set aside the judgment of Osun State Election Tribunal that the candidate of the People Democratic Party, Senator Ademola Adeleke be declared the winner. The tribunal’s majority judgment reversed the victory of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its candidate, Adegboyega Oyetola and declared the PDP and Adeleke winners.

Oyetola, APC and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) filed substantive appeals, seeking the setting aside of the majority decision. Adeleke filed a cross-appeal, challenging a portion of the decision.

A source leaked the expected outcome of today’s judgment to My State News that Court of Appeal has affirmed the victory of the All Progressives Congress candidate, Adegboyega Oyetola as the real winner of Osun Governorship.
