Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri has attributed his team’s 1-1 draw to the upcoming fixture between his men and Manchester United.
The Old Lady are up against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Tuesday as the Serie A Champions hope to take control of their group in this year’s Champions League competition.
According to Allegri, all his players have their head and mind on the highly-anticipated clash that they lost concentration throughout their clash against Genoa on Saturday.
Since the start of this campaign, the Scudetto Champions haven’t dropped a single point but that was broken by struggling Genoa, who scored the equalizing goal late in the game.
Allegri’s men took the lead via former United striker Cristiano Ronaldo in the opening 45 minutes but they failed to add to the scoreline as they were too wasteful and complacent in front of goal. Ronaldo, Dybala, Mandzukic and Matuidi were all guilty of missed chances.
According to the Argentine manager, his players are thinking about their trip to Old Trafford and they failed to get the job done against their Serie A opponent.
“We conceded a goal from a loss of focus. We played, from a certain point of view, with our heads in Manchester,” he told Sky Sports Italia.
Juventus remain at the top of Group H after defeating Swiss side Young Boys and La Liga side Valencia in the first two clashes of the competition.
They would be hoping to make it three out of three when the tackle Mourinho’s team on Tuesday.
Cristiano Ronaldo would be back to Old Trafford for the first time since he left Real Madrid.
Having missed the game against Young Boys due to suspension, the Portuguese striker is more than ready to continue his emphatic Champions League’s goalscoring record.
