Benue State Governor Ortom defected to PDP over APC State Crisis

The Governor of Benue State Samuel Ortom has left the ruling All Progressives Congress and said to have deflected to people Democratic Party. A reliable source revealed to us that Benue State Governor Ortom defected to PDP barely two days when he made his intention known.

The Governor has said to have deflected to People Democratic Party because of some strong forces in the party that do not want the governor to go for second term.

The Punch news reported earlier that Governor Samuel Ortom was planning to dump the party because of some disagreement between him and the presidency.

The major reason Benue State Governor Ortom defected to PDP is that the Presidency was not happy with the governor for confronting of the Federal Government on the killings in the state and had reportedly decided to replace him in the forthcoming governorship election.

Governor Samuel Ortom became the Governor of Benue state in 2015 because of the massive support of one of the key leader in the party Senator George Akume. Senator George Akume has withdraw his support and now back that a one-time House of Representatives member, Mr. Emmanuel Jime, who was denied the ticket of the party in 2015, was being considered to fly the party’s flag in 2019.
